This Privacy Policy describes how Expense Tracker Buddy ("the App") handles your information. Our core philosophy is that your financial data is your business. We provide a secure, synced environment for you to manage your professional expenses.
Expense Tracker Buddy uses Google Firebase to provide secure user authentication and real-time data synchronization across your devices.
Authentication: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a unique User ID (UID) to secure your account.
Cloud Syncing: Financial expenses, client names, mileage logs, and receipt data are stored in a secure cloud database (Firebase Firestore) and file storage (Firebase Storage). This allows you to access your data across multiple devices.
Data Control: We do not sell or share your personal or financial data with third parties. Your data is stored in your private account and is only accessible by you.
The App requests access to your device's camera and storage strictly for the purpose of capturing or uploading physical receipts and attaching them to your expense logs.
Images are uploaded to Firebase Storage and associated with your private User ID.
We do not analyze, use for advertising, or share your photos with anyone.
The App requests permission to send you notifications to remind you to log your weekly expenses and mileage.
These reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
We do not use your notification data for tracking or marketing purposes.
We use the following third-party services to ensure the stability and functionality of the App:
Google Firebase: Used for authentication, cloud database hosting, and secure file storage.
Crashlytics (Firebase): We may receive anonymous, aggregated crash reports to identify bugs and improve the App's stability. This data contains no personally identifiable financial information.
Apple/Google Analytics: If you have opted in via your system settings, we may receive anonymous usage statistics provided by the platform (Apple or Google) to improve the app experience.
The security of your data is a top priority.
Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit between your device and the cloud, and encrypted at rest within Google’s secure data centers.
User Responsibility: Because your account is protected by your login credentials, we highly recommend using a strong, unique password and utilizing your device's biometric security (Face ID, Touch ID, or Android Biometrics).
Data Deletion: If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you may do so within the App settings or by contacting the developer.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date."
