This Privacy Policy describes how Breaker Box Buddy ("the App") handles your information. Our core philosophy is that your home and property data is your business. We provide a secure, synced environment for you to map your electrical panels, rooms, and physical fixtures.
Breaker Box Buddy uses Google Firebase to provide secure user authentication and real-time data synchronization across your devices.
Authentication: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a unique User ID (UID) to secure your account.
Cloud Syncing: Property locations, electrical panels, breaker details, room lists, and mapped fixture positions are stored in a secure cloud database (Firebase Firestore) and file storage (Firebase Storage). This allows you to access your data across multiple devices.
Data Control: We do not sell or share your personal or property data with third parties. Your data is stored in your private account and is only accessible by you.
The App requests access to your device's photo library and storage strictly for the purpose of uploading room floor plans and blueprints so you can drop interactive fixture pins on them.
Floor plan images are uploaded to Firebase Storage and associated strictly with your private User ID and property location.
We do not analyze, use for advertising, or share your uploaded floor plans or photos with anyone.
The App may request permission to send you local system notifications to assist with your property mapping and app status.
These reminders or alerts are scheduled locally on your device.
We do not use notification data for tracking or marketing purposes.
We use the following third-party services to ensure the stability, hosting, and functionality of the App:
Google Firebase: Used for user authentication, cloud database hosting, and secure floor plan file storage.
Crashlytics (Firebase): We may receive anonymous, aggregated crash reports to identify bugs and improve the App's stability. This data contains no personally identifiable property or financial information.
Apple Analytics: If you have opted in via your device system settings, we may receive anonymous usage statistics provided by Apple to help us improve the overall app experience.
The security of your data is a top priority.
Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit between your device and the cloud, and encrypted at rest within Google’s secure data centers.
User Responsibility: Because your account is protected by your login credentials, we highly recommend using a strong, unique password and utilizing your device's biometric security (Face ID or Touch ID).
Data Deletion: If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you may do so within the App settings or by contacting the developer directly.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
